The Project: Rewrite an email funnel to sound more conversational and tell the story of the owners' health coaching business. Also to promote a New Year’s weight loss program coming in January. Potential clients are looking to set resolutions, lose weight, and get healthier. So, highlighting the free offers that are in each email and keeping the audience engaged was important so that they would open each email that would be sent.

The Strategy: First, I wanted to understand the brand voice of the business so that the email series sounds like the owners of their audience. I also read the original copy that was sent to get an idea of their brand voice as well as understand the point they want to get across with each email.

I made sure that the subject lines and snippets were interesting words that would entice the audience to open the email. I included some curiosity as well as some straightforward subject lines and snippets. I provided multiple links for the audience to click on for them to get their free gifts and to sign up for the free breakthrough sessions.

I wanted to make sure each email flowed seamlessly from the previous one. I reviewed what was discussed in the prior email. I give them some words of anticipation so that they can be on the lookout for the next offer that’s coming. I encourage them to go back to the previous emails if they did not get a chance to view them hinting at the fact that they missed some great information.

Finally, I try to keep the emails interesting and readable. I break up some text by adding bullet points. I also make the sentences easier to read by keeping them simple and no more than 2-3 lines. But most of all, I write to the audience in a friendly, empathetic, and welcoming tone. I want the audience to be able to build trust in the owners and eventually decide to sign up for their health coaching programs and products.
